Visual Lateral Thinking

Seeing the unobvious within the obvious. Referred in Sanskrit as Ascharyavat Pashyati (seeing with wonderment) or with Beginner's Mind (Zen) or what Harvard Psychologist  Ellen Langer calls "actively noticing the new" or what ex-Jolly Good Fellow at Google, Chade Meng Tan calls "developing interest as a skill". I have been blessed to be practicing it for some time now. The core idea being to hold an object  in awareness. "See" its constituent parts or its context or its various concepts. And take another object/constituent part/context/concept and cross-link them.  And develop variations. This enables lateral thinking, epistemic humility and insights.
