His thin frame was as vocal as the thin frames of the flutes he was selling. From building to building…or may we say from ear to ear or heart to heart. He kept playing the flute with zest. Ever increasing sound.

By now, it would have been 15 min that he was playing already. And maybe it wasn’t so much of symphony for someone. Finally, some vocal activity emanated from a certain second floor. A man bursting in anger. Shouting at the flute player. Commanding for the sound space to be vacated.

The flute man looked. Maybe he looked what appeared and beyond. Gave a gentle polite respectful smile. And breezed away.

The commander was seen speaking to his neighbor, who had by now perched on his balcony too. Both soothing each other. As to how its becoming difficult to concentrate on office video calls and how such interruptions are draining.

The complex interconnected interdependent world we have come to live in, is posing enormous challenges. Some we are aware of and trying to solve. Some we are aware but couldn’t care less. Many we aren’t even aware of.

One of them goes by the concept of scarcity. There are things that are scarce. Only a few people could have it. And there are different ways in which one can have them. Sometimes when one has it, other cannot forever. Sometimes when one has it, other can have at another time. And so on.

Such scarcities could be fruits of actions or actions themselves. Upon some reflection, we can realize that there are so many times we encounter that one man’s action can interfere/impede with another man’s action. Answering one email or attending to one person means one cannot answer or attend the other.

We can bring to awareness what micro-actions of others are impeding our own micro-actions. And what of our micro-actions are impeding other’s micro-actions. Over time, one will need to drive balance of innovation (for abundance or less interference of actions and fruits), or humaneness (to accommodate) or resilience (to reconcile perceived and real unfairnesses). And then there shall be things beyond our fathom.

Aim for the zoom and if you miss it, you will end up hitting the scars.
