chunking
There are times when some of the tasks become too difficult to do. They may be otherwise very simple or easy but just that we feel either
too exhausted
too absorbed in other task
feel that these tasks aren’t helping or meaningless or too repetitive
feel that we have done so many similar on the same day or just yesterday and want a break
and so on…
In these times or states, one can try out “chunking”. Chunking simply means bringing or lumping together different things or concepts. In our case here, we could start doing some of the chores and as we build momentum on them, we could also lump and complete some other chores.
Distinctly different chores will demand different breaking-of-the-inertia. However, when with some momentum, we could complete more chores together.
Over time, one’s before-during-after states or feelings with these chores could undergo a shift. Sometimes one may find them easy, sometimes one may find them as exercise, and so on.
